Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.

i'm back.

October 08, 2005
well...i'm back. i had a very nice time in north umbrea. it was gorgeous and really relaxing. in addition i got to sit in on some lectures. i learned so so much and feel really encouraged. i got to see amazing things and took loads of photos. i got to sleep in a big bed all to myself. i droved the huge ghetto transit van on some of the smallest roads. the starter was out for 3 of the days, so the guys had to push start the van. it was rubbish! and then one morning the german student told me that if i had faith for the van to start, that it would. that the power comes from God but the faith from the people. and it started! and it kept starting for the following 2 days. pretty darn awesome. i have lots of clothes to wash and have some settling back in to do. so that is all for now... but just to let you all know i'm home.

to say goodbye.

September 29, 2005
i don't want to run the risk of sounding cliche. but i want to acknowledge the fact that a wonderful girl, one of my students from home has died. it's not how she died that matters, but the fact that she was a friend, sister, daughter, grand daughter, cousin and much more to so many more.
charletta vick was one of the most hilarious people i've ever known. even nearly 4 years ago as a freshman in high school she had white hot wit! she always made everyone around her laugh. she also had the ability to make those who loved her cry. she was a very smart girl, it was difficult to understand her or relate to her experience i think. but that's really not the point i'm trying to make. she was loved. she is missed. many grieve for a girl who did not grasp how loved she was. i miss her. i cry for the loss of her. i cry for the broken hearts of those who must now go on without her. i want my natural response to be blessing.

Blessed be Your name in the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name
And blessed be Your name when I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be your name

Every blessing You pour out I’ll turn back to praise
And when the darkness closes in Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name when the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s “all as it should be”
Blessed be Your name
And blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name
